Join us Saturday, December 2nd for "Ardent Echoes" with guest conductor James Beauton. He is one of four finalists to be MCOSJ's new Music Director. "This program combines some of my favorite things," says Beauton, "making music with friends (old and new), filling a stage with percussion instruments, and of course, Beethoven!"
A highlight of the program is the California premiere of the Double Percussion Concerto by Nick DiBerardino, with percussionists arx duo as soloists. The duo's founder, Garret Arney, describes the concerto as "very delicate, detailed, and in harmony with the ensemble. . . it's not just a cool percussion piece, it's a cool pieces with a feature of percussion."
You'll enjoy romantic and passionate music by John Ireland and Robert Schumann, and, says Beauton, "We'll kick the whole thing off with the Egmont Overture to show exactly how the music of Beethoven ardently echoes through time." Don't miss your opportunity to be part of this important season of transition for MCOSJ!
