“Lemvo and his band, Makina Loca, manage a blend of Cuban and Central African traditions that is seamless and organic–and infectious.”   –The Los Angeles Times

Ricardo Lemvo, known for his innovative fusion of Afro-Cuban rhythms with pan-African styles, has earned acclaim for his "seamless and infectious" music from the Los Angeles Times. Hailing from São Salvador Do Congo (M'Banza-Kongo), Zaire, Lemvo's journey into music started in Congo-Kinshasa, where Cuban music captivated him through his cousin's LP collection. Despite starting his US journey with a law degree pursuit over 30 years ago, Lemvo's passion for music redirected his life's path.

Leading Makina Loca since 1990, Lemvo's multicultural background enriches his performances, encouraging global audiences to dance away their troubles. Collaborations with artists like Colombia's Joe Arroyo and appearances in various media outlets highlight his influence, showcasing an enduring legacy and a unique musical identity that captivates listeners worldwide.
