On Sunday after Thanksgiving, at 7pm PST, join us in celebrating nationally beloved, but Bay Area-based conductor Barbara Day Turner! Four renowned classical artists will perform an enticing 45 minute online video concert of Mendelssohn, Babajanian, and Brahms and all proceeds from (optional) online donations collected during the concert will benefit Maestra BDT's upcoming projects with her excellent San Jose Chamber Orchestra. Notes for Nourishment (NFN) concerts are a project of the award-winning global music organization Listen For Life. For several years now, NFN concerts have been created by participating artists in cities and venues of many countries worldwide. Now they have gone online, in the form of both video concerts and livestream events. In NFN concerts, renowned artists of all ages and cultures donate their time and talents to perform free concerts that nourish their audience, while donations are collected to benefit a nonprofit (chosen by the performers) that nourishes the hungry, hurting, or homeless of their community and beyond. The San Jose Chamber Orchestra is a nationally recognized leader in community service, bringing music to the hurting and homeless - and Maestra BDT is the recipient of countless national awards for her programming, contemporary music premieres, and quality recordings with the SJCO. The four performers in this program (Philip Brezina, violin, Evan Kahn, cello, Erin Nolan, viola, and Donna Stoering, piano) have national and international careers that have intersected with Maestra BDT and the SJCO at many levels over the years, so their choice of beneficiary for this concert was immediate and unanimous.
