Those who may have missed the phenomenal second program of the Sierra Chamber Society’s 33rd season in December, which included Debussy’s charming late Sonata for Cello and Piano and Messaien’s rarely heard epic Quartet for the End of Time, as well as those who attended and wished for a second occasion to hear this amazing music will be delighted to learn that the same cast of musicians will be repeating the program at Piedmont Piano as part of its popular and nationally-recognized series of jazz and chamber music concerts on Sunday March 1, 2020 at 4 PM. Once again, Tanya Tomkins of the Left Coast Chamber Ensemble and principal cello of the Philharmonia Baroque will be joined by Stevan Cavalier, pianist and Director of the SCS in the Debussy sonata, to be followed by the spiritual, mysterious and virtuosic Quartet for the End of Time performed by Jerry Simas, clarinet, Left Coast Chamber Ensemble and principal bass clarinet of the SF Symphony, Anna Pressler, violin and Artistic Director of the Left Coast Chamber Ensemble, Tanya Tomkins, cello, and Eric Zivian, piano, Left Coast Chamber Ensemble.
