Beethoven’s 250th anniversary year, ours will not be the first or last concert to celebrate his genius, but the works we will perform in his honor may not be pieces with which our patrons are familiar. The gentle intimacy of the Op.29 Viola Quintet will upend all expectations, and the chamber version of the masterful Fourth Piano Concerto, one of his most intimate concerti, works marvelously.
