Hailed by the Boston Globe as “the most important American quartet in history,” the ensemble draws on a deep and vital engagement with the classics, while embracing the mission of championing new works. The program includes the Beethoven Quartet, Opus 130 paired with new pieces by the celebrated German composer Jӧrg Widmann, which were designed to accompany Beethoven’s work. The Green Music Center is a proud co-commissioner of this project.
