Those who "attended" the streaming performances of our first two Shelter in Place Community Concerts were treated to virtuoso performances ranging from sitar raga to classic tango to jazz bassoon, along with time-honored classical works. The artists performed in their own homes, redefining the concept of "Shelter in Place."
The third concert of the series goes a step further, as our performing ensembles explore a variety of sheltered venues:
The EOS Ensemble performs a Dvořák string quartet in an East Bay Redwood Grove.
The Brass Trio combines the socially distant voices of trumpet, french horn, and trombone electronically.
Violinist Maya and Cellist Hana Cohon return from the San Francisco Opera and the New England Conservatory to perform duets and shelter with their family in Seattle.
Watch and listen Sunday afternoon at 4:00pm on our Community Concerts website: https://www.communityconcertepworth.org or on the Community Concerts at Epworth Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/communityconcertepworth/
Our concerts are free to all. Following each concert we provide a donation link to a community organization, so we can continue to fulfill our mission of building and supporting community through great music.
Donations to our third concert benefit the East Oakland Collective, whose mission is serving the residents and community of East Oakland by fostering and promoting racial and economic equity.
Community Concerts is a service of Epworth United Methodist Church of Berkeley, a Reconciling Congregation committed to justice for all.
