Presented by Community Concerts at Epworth

Community Concerts at Epworth presents a rare opportunity to hear countertenor Aryeh Nussbaum Cohen in an intimate recital. As a member of the San Francisco Opera's Adler Fellowship, Cohen made his debut as Medoro in the Opera's 2019 production of Handel's Orlando. He has been acclaimed by The New York Times as "extravagantly gifted...poised to redefine what is possible for singers of this distinctive voice type."

Cohen will be accompanied by pianist John Churchwell, Head of Music for San Francisco Opera and a collaborative artist with an extensive career on the concert stage.

Community Concerts at Epworth brings high quality performances of diverse styles and genres to our North Berkeley neighborhood in an accessible format. Concerts are about one hour in length and are presented without charge, so that all can have access to great music.

The concert series is a community service of Epworth United Methodist Church of Berkeley, a Reconciling Congregation committed to justice for all people.
