Nadine Sierra, soprano sensation recently seen in The Marriage of Figaro at the
Metropolitan Opera, takes the stage during the opening night performance at Classical
Tahoe Festival Season 9.
Sierra, a much-heralded opera star, will treat opening night audiences to an evening of
aria favorites, including the innocent “Caro Nome” from Rigoletto, the leaps of Bellini’s
Capuletti heroine in “O quante Volte”, a rare gem from Mozart: “Ruhe Sanft”, and the
riveting “Jewel Song” from Gounod’s Romeo et Juliette.
Maestro Joel Revzen closes the first night of the nine-concert series with composer
Mendelssohn’s bright and exuberant Symphony No. 4 – the Classical Tahoe Orchestra’s
virtuosity will be on full display.
