Chanticleer brings the warmth, light and joy to audiences across the Bay Area with A Chanticleer Christmas featuring a selection of longtime audience favorites, including choral music from the Renaissance to joyful spirituals and traditional carols, to fill you with wonder and merriment this festive season.
This year's program is full of new arrangements of well-known tunes, presented with impeccable style and virtuosity as well as popular classics such as Franz Biebl's Ave Maria. The evening begins with an exquisite candlelit procession with Renaissance masterworks by Tomas Luis de Victoria and Orlando de Lassus, and concludes with a litany of crowd-pleasers, including a new jazz arrangement of O come all ye faithful by the GRAMMY-nominated arranger, Amanda Taylor. The evening comes to a raucous close with Joseph Jennings's classic Spirituals.
