Cantabíle Youth Singers, Silicon Valley’s premiere youth mixed choral program, is holding auditions and registrations from June through August for the 2024-2025 season. With over 150 singers ages 8-18 across eight choirs, Cantabíle will be celebrating its 30th Anniversary in 2025 with a newly commissioned choral piece, an international concert tour, and a special anniversary concert.
Cantabíle has choirs for students in grades 1-3 with little or no previous singing experience that do not require an audition; intermediate choirs for grades 4-5 that require an informal evaluation; and advanced, audition-based choirs for grades 6-12. Rehearsals take place in Los Altos and are once or twice per week, 2-4 hours per week beginning in mid-August and running through Memorial Day. Major concerts happen in early December and mid-May, with other performance opportunities throughout the year.
Founded in 1995 and led for the past 20 years by Artistic Director Elena Sharkova, Cantabíle has established a national and international reputation for its incredible artistry. Cantabíle has performed at festivals and conferences across the globe, and this year will be performing in New York City, Australia, and New Zealand. Cantabíle also does multiple concerts and collaborations locally each season. For the 2024-2025 season are concerts are already planned at St. Joseph’s Cathedral in San Jose and performances with Symphony San Jose and Opera San Jose.
