Celebrate Hannukah with new works and rediscovered gems of klezmer, Romanian and Polish traditional music
Founded in 2018, Baymele — "little tree" in Yiddish — is a klezmer trio rooted in the Bay Area. Their music showcases newly rediscovered gems from Ashkenazi Jewish, Polish, Romanian, Ukrainian, and Hungarian folk music traditions, alongside many of their own compositions. Baymele features Matthew Stein on violin and viola, Misha Khalikulov on cello, and Dmitri Gaskin on accordion and piano.
