The Klein’s love affair with Tessa Lark goes back to when we first met her at the 2008 Competition, where she won first prize. It was our introduction to one of the most captivating artistic voices of our time, and one of the most endearing. Tessa Lark is not just an emerging superstar in the classical realm, but a highly acclaimed bluegrass fiddler in the tradition of her native Kentucky. Recently, Tessa received the 2020 Lincoln Center Emerging Artist Award, the Hunt Family Award, and a 2020 Grammy Nomination for Best Classical Instrumental Solo for her recording of Michael Torke‘s Sky Concerto.
Violinist Julian Rhee is the first prize winner of the Elmar Oliveira and Johansen International Competitions, as well as winning the Solo Bach, Commissioned Work and Second Prize at the 2018 Klein Competition.
The first American in four decades and youngest musician ever to win First Prize at the International Tchaikovsky Competition Cello Division, 21-year old Zlatomir Fung has taken the top prizes at the 2018 Alice and Eleonore Schoenfeld International String Competition, 2016 George Enescu International Cello Competition, 2015 Johansen International Competition for Young String Players and the 2014 Stulberg International String Competition.
Violinist Caroline Campbell has appeared as soloist with the Cleveland Orchestra, Los Angeles Philharmonic, Indianapolis Symphony, and many other symphony orchestras. She has soloed in venues from Carnegie Hall to the Kennedy Center, and from Kuala Lumpur to the Sydney Opera House. Nicknamed "violinist to the stars" and a favorite duet partner with world-renowned artists such as Sting, Andrea Bocelli, Steven Tyler, Adam Levine, Michael Bublé, Rod Stewart, David Foster and Seal, Caroline moves with elegant ease between the classical and popular music worlds. She tours with Chris Botti and Andrea Bocelli.
