At this concert, Azure will explore works of the distinguished and prolific songwriting team Marilyn and Alan Bergman. 

Among the many songs the Bergmans have written, 16 were nominated for Academy Awards including three winners: “The Windmills of Your Mind” in 1968, “The Way We Were” in 1973, and the score for “Yentl” in 1984. Artist Bio

Azure McCall born and raised in Berkeley. She lived most of her life in Hawaii, and as Hawaii's "First Lady of Jazz," she is a multi-award winning jazz vocalist. McCall is heir to the vocal tradition of Sarah Vaughan, Carmen McCrae and Ella Fitzgerald. Her warmth and sense of humor fuel every interpretation. After releasing he first CD "Body and Soul," it caught the ears of bassist Ray Brown and Azure was asked to tour with his band of greats: Geoff Keezer, Joe Lovano, Nicholas Payton and Karrim Riggings. Beginning an incredible jazz journey - school was in! Preparing her to perform with Freddie Hubbard, Frank Morgan, and asked by Dizzy Gillespie to perform at the Monterey Jazz Festival. She has traveled and performed in over 50 countries and now teaches Scat Vocals at California Jazz Conservatory.
