Berkeley Chamber Performances presents the dynamic wind quintet, WindSync, in its first virtual “Couch and Cocktail Concert” of 2021 from Tuesday, February 2 at 7:00 PM through Sunday, February 14 at 11:55 PM (PST). Concert is viewable any time during these dates.
WindSync is a collective of five outstanding North American musicians who come together as performers (playing everything from memory), educators, and community-builders. This youthful wind quintet has established itself as a vibrant chamber ensemble performing wind quintet masterworks, adapting beloved music to their instrumentation, and championing new works by today’s composers. The quintet eliminates the "fourth wall" between musicians and audience by often performing from memory, creating an intimate connection. This personal performance style, combined with the ensemble’s three-pronged mission of artistry, education, and community-building, lends WindSync its reputation as “a wind quintet like you’ve never heard or seen” (Classical MPR).
Berkeley Chamber Performances, founded in 1993, is committed to presenting intimate chamber music concerts to the East Bay community and is pleased that its pivot to virtual performances has allowed it to expand its audience. Its programs offer a diverse range of musical styles that often extend the boundaries of chamber music by providing established and emerging musical ensembles the opportunity to perform traditional, contemporary, and original works.
