The Ambroš Duo, a renowned mother-son music duo from the capital city of Prague in the Czech Republic, will be performing at Piedmont Center for the Arts on Saturday, November 5, 2022, at 5:00pm. The concert will feature works by Mozart, Sarasate, and Czech composers Dvorák and Smetana, among others. The concert will conclude with the lively “Monti Czardas."
Miroslav Ambroš studied violin at the Prague Conservatory of Music and the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Germany. Ambroš has worked with great musicians such as Pinchas Zukerman, Ruggiero Ricci, and others. Beginning in 2008, Ambroš exclusively undertook lessons from Maestro Josef Suk, the great-grandson of the Czech composer Antonin Dvorak, until Suk’s death in 2011.
Mr. Ambroš plays a violin made in 1734 by the Italian master Luthier Camillo de Camilli. The instrument is part of a collection of musical instruments from the Czech National Museum.
