Bay Choral Guild
Sanford Dole, Artistic Director
Bay Choral Guild invites singers to join us for our 2019-2020 season. Auditions are by appointment on September 9 or September 16, 2019. If you would like to sing, you can find additional information on the Bay Choral Guild website: www.baychoralguild.org/auditions or send email to: [email protected].
Our fall concert, Discovery and Rediscovery, features choral music by women composers old and new from the US, Iceland, Latvia, China, Bulgaria, Canada and England. The music ranges from medieval Germany and the Italian Renaissance and Baroque eras through contemporary works.
In March, we perform Mendelssohn's "Elijah", with Jubilate Orchestra playing period instruments of the classical era. Inspired by the large-scale works of Handel and Bach, this epic music-drama recounts the story of the Biblical prophet Elijah.
Celebrating our director's 20th year with Bay Choral Guild, our June concert In the Dolian Mode will feature all things Dolian; that is, music Sanford Dole has composed over the years for unaccompanied choir. Music sacred and secular, arrangements of popular songs, and the premiere of a new work!
Each concert will be performed in Campbell, San Francisco, and Palo Alto.
