The energetic Montreal-based duo Stick & Bow unites Canadian marimba player Krystina Marcoux and Argentinian cellist Juan Sebastian Delgado for a program of music from Brazil, Mexico, Cuba, Argentina, Chile, and Puerto Rico/Spain. Classically trained musicians, they bring their creative energy to a wide spectrum of music, from rock to gypsy-jazz, baroque, and tango. Their eclectic repertoire features original arrangements of both celebrated and rarely heard works, showcasing a previously unheard range of voices in the combination of their instruments. In their creative process, they combine musical narration with story-telling in which the powerful combination of cello & marimba transforms familiar works in refreshing and unexpected ways.
The performance is accessible online from September 25 (9 AM EDT) through September 30 (9 PM EDT). And on Wednesday, September 30 at 6:30 PM, enjoy a live conversation with the artists and Dr. Stephanie R. Golob, Director of Baruch College's Initiative for the Study of Latin America (ISLA). Registration is required and admission is Pay-what-you-can.
