The Telegraph Quartet

Presented by 405 Shrader

The Telegraph Quartet performs

Benjamin Britten: String Quartet No. 1 in D Major, Op. 25. Composed in Escondito! The 1941 LA Times review of the premiere (at Occidental College) subtitled it "In Memoriam for a Lost World" for its shimmering tones, and called it "a brilliant success".

Mieczyslaw Weinberg: String Quartet No. 6 in E minor, Op. 35. Think Shostakovich! Weinberg was Polish though his professional, musical life in Russia. It is brilliant, Soviet-era music.

405 Shrader, San Francisco's intimate concert hall (40 seats), is at the corner of Oak and Shrader on the Panhandle (near GG Park). Concerts (usually about 50 minutes of music) begin at 7 PM, there is no late seating. An aperitif is offered.
