Margaret Secour is a classically trained opera singer. She studied in the Opera Program at California State University, Long Beach. As a singer, she has performed with San Francisco Opera Chorus, San Francisco Symphony Chorus, San Francisco Lyric Opera, Lamplighters, and Oakland Civic Theatre; toured nationally with Pasadena-based Opera a la Carte, a Gilbert and Sullivan company; and appeared internationally with Master Chorale of Orange County. Ms. Secour’s stage credits include roles in opera, operetta, oratorio, and solo recitals; as well as back up singing engagements for nationally recognized recordings and performances.
Teaching positions include the San Francisco Boys Chorus (2005-2010) as the Jr. Apprentice Director and sight-singing/theory instructor and St. Patrick School, Rodeo (2007-2012) as PreK-8th grade music teacher. She is currently the Director of Music at St. Clare’s Episcopal Church in Pleasanton, CA.
