Dr. Gretchen Lindsay Hull has a thriving private studio of about 20 students. She serves very committed students who have a passion for music and a desire to pursue a high level of artistry. Her students have taken multiple top placements both at the US Open Music Competition and the San Francisco region of the Artciál International Piano Competition, including advancement to the international round (August 2023). Throughout her many years of teaching, she has taught a wide range of students from young children to university piano performance majors, preparing them for recitals, competitions, auditions, recording sessions, and ABRSM exams as desired.
Lessons are given at her home in San Jose (Almaden Valley), where students have weekly lessons on a Steinway L. Student recitals are held at a larger venue twice yearly. Dr. Hull is an active member of MTNA and MTAC and all relevant local California chapters, which provide additional opportunities for regular performances, competitions, and masterclasses for all interested students.
