Charles Barrett

Charles R Barrett is a San Francisco based musician specializing in Brass Instruments (Tuba, Trombone, and Euphonium), Music Theory, and Conducting.
He currently holds Bachelor of Music, in Tuba Performance, and Masters of Music, in instrumental Conducting, degrees from San Francisco State University and has been actively teaching, both privately and in public schools, for over a decade. Charles has studied with Zachariah Spellman (SF Opera), Douglas Tornquist (LA Philharmonic, LA Brass), Ray Brown (Stan Kenton Band), Dale Engstrom (Tower of Power), and Richard Doughty (Fresno Philharmonic, Cabrillo Music Festival).

His teaching style is multifaceted and places an emphasis on Pedagogy, Technique, Repertoire, Theory, Ear Training, and most importantly, regular performances.
