The class engenders enthusiasm for music making and introduces students to a wide range of choral repertoire. Open to students ages 7 through 17, the class may be divided by age group, depending on enrollment, to present the appropriate level of instruction.

Director Qualifications
- Excellent musicianship and ability to play and accompany on the piano
- Solid understanding of vocal production, vocal pedagogy, and rehearsal techniques
- Wide knowledge of choral repertoire suitable for beginning to intermediate level singers
- Ability to inspire through contagious enthusiasm
- Bachelor’s degree in music education and 1+ year of professional experience
Vallejo Choral Society
VCS’s role as program sponsor begins with sourcing a talented professional music educator to lead the class and extends to curriculum input, recital support, and financial supplementation. In addition, VCS may offer opportunities for the youth chorus to perform at VCS concerts. GVRD’s role as administrator includes hosting the class at one of its community centers and managing student enrollment and tuition payments.
The Campanelli Youth Chorus Director serves under contract with the VCS Board of Directors and in collaboration with the VCS Artistic Director. This is a part-time position; compensation is $150 per class, with ~12 classes per session. The selectee must provide proof of legal eligibility to work in the United States.
