The Symphony Silicon Valley Chorale, directed by Elena Sharkova, has become known in the Bay Area and beyond for its eclectic mix of concert programs: from choral-orchestral masterworks to contemporary, jazz, and folk-inspired compositions. As the chorus-in-residence for Symphony Silicon Valley, Chorale performs regularly with world-renowned vocal and instrumental soloists and conductors on stage of the historic California Theater in San Jose.
Symphony Silicon Valley Chorale and Music Director Elena Sharkova are thrilled to announce the 2016-2017 concert programs. In December 2016, the Chorale, along with members of Symphony Silicon Valley, ring in the season with its 11th annual family favorite — Carols in the California. This festive holiday concert has become a San Jose tradition and we are sure you’ll enjoy the sing-alongs and good tidings that has made this a can’t-miss part of the holiday season. Maestro Constantine Kitsopoulos, musical director of the esteemed Queens Symphony Orchestra in New York, leads Symphony Silicon Valley and Chorale in Mozart’s sublime Requiem. The ladies of Chorale create magic with the symphony in a live performance of Harry Potter and The Sorcerer’s Stone. The season finishes with Chorale’s 30th anniversary celebration in a program dedicated to the passionate and magical tradition of Argentine music and dance. Argentina’s vibrant Maestro Carlos Vieu leads the symphony and chorus in Luis Bacalov’s Misa Tango.
