The Vallejo Symphony has an immediate opening for a
PART-TIME STAGE MANAGER, VALLEJO SYMPHONY

The position reports to the Symphony President or designee and works in conjunction with the Music Director/Conductor and Board of Directors. The Vallejo Symphony, in its 83rd season, will perform three subscription concerts in Vallejo. There are two rehearsals prior to each concert.
First concert:
Rehearsal # 1—Friday, September 19, 2014 from 7:30 pm to 10:30 pm
Rehearsal #2—Sunday, September 21, 2014 from 10:30 am to 1:00 pm
Performance—Sunday, September 21, 2014, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm
Second concert:
Rehearsal # 1—Saturday, January 24, 2015 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm
Rehearsal #2—Sunday, January 25, 2015 from 10:30 am to 1:00 pm
Performance—Sunday, January 25, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm
Third concert:
Rehearsal #1— Friday, April 10, 2015 from 7:30 pm to 10:00 pm
Rehearsal #2 --Saturday, April 11, 2014 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm
Rehearsal #3—Sunday, April 12, 2014 from 10:30 am to 1:00 pm
Performance— Sunday, April 12, 2014 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm
The Stage manager holds primary responsibility for:
• Setting up and taking down the stage with chairs, stands, shells, risers, podium, percussion instruments, and other equipment as needed for each rehearsal and concert.
• Securing and transporting equipment as needed.
• Setting lights as needed for rehearsals and concerts.
• Attending a production meeting for each concert.
• Maintaining quality working relationships with Music Director/Conductor, musicians, staff, board members, and venue staff.
• Arriving several hours before each rehearsal and concert as required for proper setup.
Qualifications:
Be physically fit and able to lift and carry a minimum of 50 pounds.
Have experience with light boards and setting lights.
Have a valid California driver’s license.
Have the ability to work effectively with others.
Have the ability to work effectively under pressure.
Previous stage manager experience and knowledge of classical music and orchestra settings desired.
The Stage Manager will undergo periodic performance reviews.
Compensation:
$250 for each concert set.
