SF choir holding SATB Auditions - Resound Ensemble

Come sing with us! San Francisco-based Resound Ensemble is holding auditions for all voice parts on Wednesday, January 31st from 7pm to 9pm. We have several openings for lower voices and limited openings for treble voices.

General Info: We are a 40- to 50-voice ensemble that is committed to an eclectic choral repertoire. We present a wide range of styles of choral music each season, from 15th century pieces to new works, accompanied and a cappella, based around a unifying theme. We value community and enjoy many musical and non-musical activities together throughout each season.

Musical Requirements: Singers should have a minimum of one year of choral experience, preferably several years. You should be comfortable identifying the bass and treble clef, major key signatures, common musical terms about tempo and dynamics, note durations, dotted rhythms, time signatures, whole steps and half steps in the major scale, and identifying pitches on the piano. An audition consists of a solo piece, a short sight-reading exercise, vocalization to explore the extent of your range, and a tonal memory exercise.

We value the health and safety of our singers and staff, and require everyone to be up-to-date on Covid vaccinations. In addition, our rehearsal spaces are optimized for maximum social distancing and air exchange. Masks in rehearsal and in concerts are optional, as is Covid testing. We continue to monitor health guidelines and take precautions as needed.

Rehearsals are every Wednesday night from 7pm to 9:30pm, in a large space just off of 24th Street in Noe Valley, easily accessible by BART and MUNI. Free parking within a two-block radius is also available.
