Pocket Opera specializes in the English translation of Artistic Director Donald Pippin and is performed by dynamic singers and live 8 piece orchestra, The Pocket Philharmonic. The English settings are eloquently realized in two venues: San Francisco’s lovely Florence Gould Theater in the Legion of Honor and the charming Hillside Club in Berkeley. Our theatres are intimate and the larger-than-life tales of laughter, loss, and love are easily understood in Pippin’s incomparable English translations. Now preparing to celebrate our 39th season and Donald Pippin’s 90 translations!
