Pocket Opera 2016 Season Auditions

Audition will be held Oct 3 and 9, 2015 at the Lamplighters rehearsal space, 469 Bryant, San Francisco.

The 2016 Season runs Feb thru July and will include:

MARTHA (von Flowtow) –Feb 28 & March 6- reh begins Feb 1
KING FOR A DAY (Verdi) –April 10 & 17– reh begin March 7
GIULIO CESARE (Handel) concert version, on book– April 24 & May 1 – reh mid April
I PAGLIACCI / MY FAIR GALATEA (Leoncavallo/von Suppe) –May 15 &22- reh May 2
(this is a repeat from 2015 season and is mostly cast)
RIGOLETTO (Verdi) - June 5, 12, 26 - reh begin May 4
La Vie PARISIENNE (Offenbach) –July10, 17, 24 reh begin June 13

The deadline for resume submission is Sept 25th; however audition spots are limited and early submission is enthusiastically encouraged.

Please prepare three contrasting arias, an opera accompanist will be provided. It is to your advantage to include one aria from the upcoming season and in Pippin’s translation (copies will be available by email after August 27th).

Pocket Opera specializes in the English translation of Artistic Director Donald Pippin and is performed by dynamic singers and live 8 piece orchestra, The Pocket Philharmonic.
