Brassavola is an established brass quintet that is looking for a trombonist. We rehearse in Oakland near Lake Merritt, and perform for 4-6 church services per year (usually Christmas and Easter for pay, plus 3 services as in-kind payment for our rehearsal space), plus one annual recital. We rehearse 2-3 times a month on Monday evenings. We are dedicated amateurs, although sometimes we get paid for playing. We have varying levels of experience, we are great sight-readers, have lots of fun together, take music seriously (but not too seriously), and play a very wide variety of styles and music. You should be an experienced player, able to play most standard brass quintet literature, comfortable playing solos, and a good sight-reader. We are auditioning people on several upcoming Mondays: 2/20, 2/27, 3/6 and 3/20. Please come prepared to play Ewald's 3rd Brass Quintet.
