AUDITIONS for the chamber choir SERENADE
Seeking solo quality voices, with strong musicianship skills for a chamber choir. Two rehearsals a month on Sunday nights, alternating between San Francisco and San Mateo locations. Serenade is open to all singers, and operates under the umbrella of Masterworks Chorale. There are no dues.
Singers are expected to learn their notes on their own, outside of rehearsal.
The repertoire ranges from Bach to the present, from classical to popular music. We recently gave the world premiere of Nancy Bloomer Duessen's Gloria with New Millennium Orchestra, a program of Bach cantatas with Palo Alto Philharmonic, and a choral program of Lauridsen, Whitacre, Tichelli, and Cole Porter. Serenade often performs short programs for outreach events, for gigs and fundraisers, and as guests artists.

Please prepare a solo song (any style, though classical is preferred) and bring a copy for the pianist); there will be a little sight reading and vocalizing.
