Bay Choral Guild invites singers to join us for our exciting 2017-18 season. Auditions are held by appointment on September 11. If you would like to sing, you can find additional information on the Bay Choral Guild website: www.baychoralguild.org/auditions or send an e-mail to: [email protected].
We are extremely pleased to have commissioned the English composer Paul Ayres to complete the remaining movements of his Messyah. We will premier the work with the Redwood Symphony, Eric Kujawsky conductor, and soloists. Ayres' work re-imagines Handel’s Messiah as the original melodies might sound if the master were alive today and could set them in any musical style of the past 400 years.
In March we perform the St John Passion, J. S. Bach's highly dramatic masterwork and description of Christ's final days, with the Jubilate Orchestra and the Bay Area’s finest vocal soloists.
In our June concert, An English Garden, we present a survey of unaccompanied English choral music from the Renaissance to the 21st century. Featured works include William Byrd’s Five Part Mass and Herbert Howells’ Requiem
Each concert will be performed in Campbell, San Francisco, and Palo Alto.
