It's a little off the beaten path, but if you think you'll be down on the boardwalk at Santa Cruz for part of the Memorial Day weekend, you might want to make time for a concert by the artists formerly known as the Santa Cruz Chamber Orchestra.
Now called Cadenza (but don't look for them on the web under that name), this small, professional orchestra provides a lot of quality while not getting a lot of press fanfare. This weekend, local guitarist
Mesut Özgen plays Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco's Guitar Concerto, a piece that includes a particularly lovely and romance-inducing slow movement. Also on the docket are two Astor Piazzolla works, Oblivion and The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires.
