The San Francisco Conservatory’s early music program, now more than a decade old and directed by Corey Jameson and Elizabeth Reed, has produced an ensemble of graduates which is opening Seventh Avenue Performances’ 10th season this weekend.
MUSA gave its first concert back in March of this year, and just played with the Albany Consort last week, as part of the Classical Revolution Festival. For this concert, “Sweet Dreams and Night Terrors”, MUSA is doing a cross-section of Baroque era numbers and a piece by 18th-century cello superstar Luigi Boccherini. This is music that we’re used to hearing from the Bay Area’s old hands, so it will be interesting to hear the NextGen interpretations.
