The Rickshaw Stop, on Fell St. at Van Ness, is presenting Dustin O'Halloran this weekend with the Magik*Magik Orchestra's String Quartet and the Conspiracy of Venus women's vocal group.
They'll be playing music off of O'Halloran's latest instrumental album, Lumiere, which has a lot of appeal for inducing contemplation (or navel-gazing, or both.)
It's dreamy, rainy day music that sounds as if it could have been written for movies, which, no surprise, is what O'Halloran has done a lot of already. His collaborations with Magik*Magik give his music more texture because of the individuality and bite of live string instruments.
