In the "where are they now" file, Bay Area edition, Jenny Bilfield, formerly chief of Stanford Lively Arts and now head of the Washington Performing Arts Center is making her mark with an exciting new endeavor planned with new Kennedy Center director Deborah Rutter. "Shift" is the scion of the celebrated-but-now-defunct Spring for Music Festival in New York. The title of the new four-year project suggests an exciting process of change for orchestras.
