Eager listeners can now tap into Oakland Symphony’s rich vault of recorded concerts with the online rePAST program. The free, weekly, archival concert series launched mid-July, and airs a new episode every Friday evening at 6 p.m. PDT, a time slot chosen to coincide with listeners preparing dinner and the community coming together for a meal.
Oakland Symphony Music Director and Conductor Michael Morgan says, “While we are waiting to see people again in person, we will be presenting recordings of many of our most memorable past performances. I hope this will remind everyone of these musical experiences we have shared and the memorable musical times that will come as soon as possible.”

Performances to date have included Mahler’s Symphony No. 4 (recorded Feb. 22, 2020), Louise Farrenc’s Symphony No. 2 (recorded March 22, 2019), Victor Bendix’s Symphony No. 3 (recorded Nov. 13, 2015), and Bruckner’s Te Deum with Oakland Symphony Chorus (recorded March 31, 2017).
Next up on Friday, Aug. 7: Florence Price’s Symphony No. 3 (recorded Jan. 25, 2019). And the Friday after that, Aug. 14, the Symphony broadcasts Beethoven’s Symphony No. 2 (recorded March 18, 2016).
