Adding to the report 14 months ago when Singing the Golden State opened, here's a reminder that the show will close on April 18, and it should not be missed.

The exhibit, at the Society of California Pioneers, right next to the Moscone Convention Center, is a combination of musicologist James Keller’s own collection of sheet music and material from the Society’s Frederick Sherman archives. Keller became a passionate fan of old sheet music many years ago, and he put it all together, with the help of Tim Evans, the Society’s exhibition and education coordinator.

It's doubtful if there will ever be another chance to see at touching distance 150 pieces of sheet music about Frisco Town, the Gold Rush, California fairs and exhibitions, commerce and advertising, clubs and organizations, sports and amusements, children, minorities, transportation, and a tour of the Golden State. All for an admission of only $1.50 for students and seniors, $3 general.
