The Asian Art Museum's exhibit of Joseon Dynasty (1392–1910) treasures, opening this week, will be accompanied by various Korean music and dance performances throughout the shows duration.
On Nov. 17, on the occasion of the Korea Foundation's Korean Culture Day, admission will be free to the museum, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Programs include a music performance for families at 1 p.m. in Samsung Hall: students and professors from Korea National University of Arts’ School of Korean Traditional Arts perform for the first time in San Francisco.
On Nov. 9, from 2 to 4 p.m., the museum, in collaboration with the Korea Cultural Heritage Foundation, presents a reenactment of an elite class (yangban) wedding, illuminating the elaborate procedures involved in this ceremony.
