MTT Talks About the 100th Anniversary of Mahler's Death

The San Francisco Symphony was in Prague on the hundredth anniversary of Gustav Mahler's death. Back then, Prague was the second city in the Austrian Empire, a place where musical culture flourished. Mozart had loved it a century earlier, and Mahler spent two years at its opera house as musical director (1885-87). Here, SFS Music Director Michael Tilson Thomas shares his thoughts on the personal meaning of his musical idol's anniversary.
