Steinway Musical Instruments, the piano manufacturer, might have been sold to hedge fund manager John Paulson, but San Jose's Steinway Society continues its work of presenting important artists in the South Bay. The society's 19th annual Piano Series opens on Sept. 14, in the De Anza College Performing Arts Center, with a recital by 2013 Van Cliburn Competition Gold Medalist Vadym Kholodenko.
Other events in the series feature Jon Nakamatsu (Oct. 20, California Theatre), Mordecai Shehori (Nov. 16, Palo Alto JCC), the Greg Anderson-Elizabeth Joy Roe duo (Jan. 12, McAfee Center, Saratoga), Dmitri Alexeev (March 23, Le Petit Trianon), Khatia Buniatishvili (April 13, Le Petit Trianon), and Soyeon Kate Lee (May 17, Le Petit Trianon).
