Limited to a small number of composers (usually less than ten), the Composition Program carefully tailors instruction for each participant through at least eight one-hour private lessons. Each emerging composer experiences all stages of the compositional process: sketching, planning, and development of musical ideas, score and parts preparation, rehearsal, and performance.

Blue Bear School of Music is San Francisco's leading destination for aspiring musicians of all ages and all skill levels who want to enjoy learning and playing rock, blues, jazz, folk or pop. The objective of one-on-one music lessons with your music teacher is to focus on the fundamental of techniques, musical expression, and performance. Music lessons are available for piano, violin, cello, clarinet, flute, voice, guitar, saxophone, jazz, composition and others.
