Cellist Eileen Moon, a native of the San Francisco Bay Area, received her Bachelor of Music degree from the Juilliard School, followed by studies at the Hochschule fur Musik in Vienna, Austria. Eileen received 2nd Prize at the Geneva International Competition in 1991 and 4th Prize (the highest award given that year) at the Tchaikovsky International Cello Competition in 1993. She performed with the New York Philharmonic for 25 years, including positions as section cello and Assistant Principal Cello.
Born to a family of musicians in St. Petersburg, Russia, Polina Sedukh began studying violin at the age of four with her father Grigory Sedukh, and Savely Shalman. She is a graduate of the Special Music School of the St. Petersburg Conservatory, and the Rimsky-Korsakov State Conservatory, where she studied under the guidance of Lev Ivaschenko and Vladimir Ovtcharek. She also holds an Artist Diploma from Longy School of Music in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where she studied with Laura Bossert and Malcolm Lowe.
Florin Parvulescu was born in 1971 in Bucharest, Romania. He started playing the violin at the age of six at the Georges Enescu music school. In 1978, he attended the Juilliard School Pre-College division, studying with Shirley Givens. By 1989, Florin Parvulescu went on to study at the Peabody Conservatory of Music where his principal teachers were Sylvia Rosenberg and Herbert Greenberg. He also worked closely with pianist Leon Fleisher and violinist Berl Senofsky.
Marcel Gemperli (viola) is Principal Violist of the California Symphony and performs regularly with the San Francisco Symphony. He was an acting member of the San Diego Symphony viola section from 2017 until 2022 and has also performed with the orchestras of the San Francisco Opera, San Francisco Ballet, and numerous regional ensembles in the Bay Area.
